Sex For Marks: Foursquare Gospel Church Tells Accused Pastor to Step Down

The leadership of the Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria has asked its Senior pastor who has been fingered in a sex for marks scandal to step down from the pulpit.

In a release signed by the church’s National Secretary, Rev. Ikechukwu Ugbaja, the church said “as a holiness and Bible-believing Church, we do not condone such heinous and unscriptural act among our ministers.” 

The church dissociated itself from the behaviour of pastor Boniface and asked the accused pastor to step down from the pulpit, adding that appropriate measures will be taken as soon as the investigation is concluded.

Pastor Boniface Igbeneghu who doubles as a senior lecturer and Associate Professor in the Faculty of Arts, University of Lagos was exposed after his sex spree got exposed by an uncover BBC Africa journalist.

BBC in it’s African Eye, a documentary targeted at West African Universities lecturers who harass female students for grade used a female journalist, Kiki Mordi who acted as a 17year old seeking admission.

Dr. Boniface who was oblivious of the mission of the 17 years old admission seeker was seen in the secret video sweet tonguing the journalist.

He said, “Don’t you know you are a beautiful girl? Do you know I am a pastor and I am in my 50s but if I want a girl of 17 years, all I need is a sweet tongue and put some money.”

Pastor Boniface in the video revealed how his colleagues harassed female students for grade and took them to an excluded room called ‘the Cold Room’.

Also, Dr. Boniface revealed that they were more lecturers like him in the university who specialized in the same trade as him.

Meanwhile, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Oluwatoyin Ogundipe confirmed the development to PREMIUM TIMES in an interview Monday afternoon and revealed has been suspended indefinitely, adding that a panel will be set up to investigate the issue.
