Watch How DSS Allegedly Tried to Rearrest Sowore Inside Court Today (VIDEO)

Pandemonium today broke out between operatives of the Department of State Services and some members of the RevolutionNow Movement inside the Abuja Federal High Court when men of the DSS allegedly tried to rearrest Mr Omoyele Sowore.

According to online reports, men of the DSS  allegedly disrupted  proceedings of the court this morning during the commencement of trial in a case brought against Sowore by the Nigerian Government.

The development is coming on the heels on the order by the Court presided by Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu to DSS to release convener of the RevolutionNow Movement within 24hours after meeting his bail conditions.

The alleged rearrest attempt which has flooded social media has raised brows from Nigerians who have expressed displeasure at the way the DSS are handling the issue.

In a video posted on the micro-blogging site, Twitter by SaharaReporter, journalists and others present in court were seen trying to prevent rearrest of Sowore by heavily armed security personnel.


Speaking inside the courtroom, Sowore who was seen on the floor of the courtroom said, ‘they have surrounded the place. We will sleep here today.”

In another twist, the presiding Judge Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu had ordered the DSS to pay the sum of N100,000 to Sowore for illegally detaining him against two court orders.

The judge consequently adjourned the trial of the case brought against them by the Nigerian Government until December 6 for continuation.

However, Sowore has urged Nigerians not be deterred in calling for the Nigeria they as he is not unwavering in his the fight.
